Play Date Cafe #94 & Practicing Creativity

Happy Thursday, it’s nearly the weekend..yay!  I actually work on a Sunday morning but it still feels like I get the whole weekend off because I only do a couple of hours and no.. I’m not a vicar!

Today’s Play Date Cafe challenge is sponsored by Practicing Creativity and I got a really extra fun set called Key to My Heart to play with.  This is what I created..
PDCC 94 (1)
using our colours for the week…

94 fudge, goldenrod, teal
Now these colours were a bit of a challenge, not because of the colours, but because I honestly thought I had the perfect 6 x 6 pad to use, Stella & Rose by MME, only to find it was actually my friend’s pad that I’d borrowed for another card and so I had nothing in the colours.  So, friend to the rescue (yes, she does do that a lot!!) and an MME pad stealing session and this card came together.

I’ve wanted a set with a harlequin pattern for ages and look…this is what I got..

Not one, but two, harlequin stamps, woohoo!!!  Plus gorgeous writing and fancy keys, but have you seen that little scrolly line underneath the ‘hey friend’?  Isn’t that cute, you could use that for so many things!  Thank you Practicing Creativity for your generous gift! This is a close up of how I used it…

PDCC 94 (2)
I die cut the heart and stamped it in mustard seed distress ink then I stamped the key and the lock as shown and cut out leaving a small white border.  I added a little navy/mustard polka dot bow to the lock.  I attached the finished heart to a striped panel using various MME papers and Bazzill cardstock, tying on some ribbon before attaching to the front of the card.  Finally I stamped the sentiment.

I hope you get time to play along with us this week, I just know you will love what my teamies have created (I’ve had a sneak peek in the gallery!)

  1. Love your sweet card Ruby - especially knowing all the turmoil involved with this post! And you know, I have that exact pad of paper and didn't even think to use it! Oops! :-)
